For my entire career I have worked at the intersection of marketing and technology. As an early proponent of the value of interactivity for businesses, I have had the opportunity to partner with and support countless marketing groups and corporate I.T. departments, helping to define their respective needs and finding ways not just for peaceful coexistence, but for profitable partnership.
Currently I am Global E-commerce Capability Lead for Kimberly-Clark Corp. Prior to that I was consulting for several private equity groups, then Vice President / Technology Director for Edelman Digital. Before Edelman I was Executive Director of Technology for WhittmanHart/Band Digital, I headed the US operations of Paris-based e-commerce project Coastal Concepts, I was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for leading toy and hobby brand Revell-Monogram, and I founded and ran Mouse Marketing (later Planetmouse), one of the early Silicon Alley web development shops. Prior to all of this I was an advertising copywriter for various agencies in New York City and Chicago.
In my interactive marketing career I have been fortunate enough to work on projects for leading companies in the US, Great Britain and Italy including Black and Decker, Goldman Sachs, Harley-Davidson, Avon, Lord & Taylor, Citicorp U.K., Gannett, SC Johnson, Discover Card, Mercer, Behr Coatings, ABC Television, and more.In addition to blogging for on this site, I have been a guest blogger for iMedia Connection and has published articles in AdAge Digital, Mobile Commerce Daily, and Mobile Marketer magazines.
Consulting and Speaking
My consulting engagements are focused on digital marketing with specific expertise in all types of e-commerce. Companies of every type have tremendous opportunities to accelerate their growth in today’s mobile-driven environment, and my consulting work is generally oriented to helping clients find the best ways to leverage these capabilities.
Clients need to be unrelated to the CPG industry. Previous engagements have ranged from consumer electronics, apparel, professional services, manufacturing, toys/collectibles, media, hospitality and entertainment.
Please see the Digital Accelerator page for more details and contact information.
Similar to consulting, my experience delivering keynote addresses revolve around digital marketing, digital transformation brought on by mobile and e-commerce. My presentations break free from the standard PowerPoint style to bring forth a higher degree of audience engagement. Audience sizes range from the dozens to the thousands, with locations that have included Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Spain, and across the US.
